Feel to Heal

What If Nothing Is “Wrong” With You?

What if the anxiety, shutdown, overthinking, or recurring arguments aren’t flaws - but learned survival patterns? Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about understanding the wiring and building something steadier.

Who I Work With

Individuals:

For individuals who feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns shaped by trauma, therapy becomes a place to reset. You may be trying to regulate your nervous system, rebuild self-trust, move through grief, or untangle self-doubt that affects how you show up in relationships. You may feel out of rhythm - emotionally, physically, or spiritually. Our work focuses on helping you feel steadier in your body, clearer in your mind, and more aligned in how you move through your life.

Couples

I work with couples who want to understand how each partner’s mental and emotional world affects the other. Sometimes that looks like addressing long-standing resentments. Sometimes it’s talking honestly about intimacy, communication breakdowns, or the quiet distance that’s grown over time. We explore how anxiety, trauma, or stress shape the dynamic between you - and how to interrupt those cycles with new ways of relating.

Together, we move beyond surface-level communication tips. We work toward deeper connection, clearer expression, and a renewed sense of optimism about your partner and the relationship itself.

How Change Happens

I don’t believe change happens because someone gives you the right advice.

Change happens when your nervous system feels safe enough to tell the truth.

Most of us are walking around with patterns that once protected us - anxiety that kept us alert, perfectionism that kept us valued, withdrawal that kept us from getting hurt. Those strategies worked at one point. But over time, they can start to run the show.

In our work together, we slow things down. We notice what happens in your body before your thoughts spiral. We get curious about the parts of you that react, shut down, over-function, or pull away. Not to judge them — but to understand them.

When you feel understood instead of corrected…

when your emotions are met instead of minimized…

when we gently challenge the beliefs that keep you stuck…

New options become possible.

Over time, your nervous system learns that you can:

  • Feel discomfort without collapsing

  • Communicate without exploding

  • Set boundaries without abandoning yourself

  • Stay connected without losing who you are

That’s how change happens.

Not by becoming someone else.

But by becoming safer inside yourself.

Commonly Asked Questions

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

The best predictor of meaningful therapy isn’t a specific modality - it’s the relationship. I tend to work well with adults who are tired of looping the same patterns. People who want depth, not just coping skills. People who are ready to be gently challenged, not shamed. I am warm, but I am not passive. I will sit with you in pain, but I will also help you see what you may be avoiding. I care deeply about nervous system safety, which means we move at a pace that builds stability - not overwhelm. If you’re looking for quick fixes or someone to simply validate without reflection, I may not be the right fit. But if you’re ready to understand yourself at a deeper level and build real change, we’ll likely work well together.

What happens in the first few sessions?

The first session is not an interrogation. It’s a conversation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, but we’ll also talk about what feels manageable to share. I’m not interested in pushing you into trauma before trust exists. Safety comes first. Always. In the first few sessions, we clarify patterns. We identify goals. We begin to understand how your nervous system responds under stress. And we build a foundation where you don’t feel analyzed - you feel understood. Therapy with me is collaborative. We move with intention, not urgency.

What if I’m not sure therapy will help?

That’s completely okay. Some of the people I work with are highly capable, high-functioning, and outwardly “fine.” They show up for work. They take care of others. They handle responsibility well. And yet, internally, they feel anxious, disconnected, exhausted, or stuck in repeating relational patterns. Others come in feeling overwhelmed, dysregulated, or unsure how they’re going to get through the week. Both are valid reasons to seek support. You don’t need a catastrophic story to deserve therapy. And you don’t need to be falling apart to benefit from it. Sometimes therapy is about stabilizing during a hard season. Sometimes it’s about untangling long-standing patterns. Sometimes it’s about strengthening emotional regulation, rebuilding self-trust, or learning how to navigate conflict without it feeling like danger. If you’re unsure whether your situation is “serious enough,” that’s often a sign that you’ve learned to minimize your own needs. We can explore that together. You don’t have to be certain therapy will help in order to begin. You just have to be willing to be curious about yourself.
