About me

About Danica Branch Therapy and Wellness

I chose this work because I believe people are not broken, they are patterned.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and graduated with distinction. My work is informed by the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation. I regularly integrate Gottman principles and research-based interventions into my work with couples, and I am currently pursuing advanced training in EMDR and relational therapies to deepen my trauma and attachment work.

I didn’t choose these approaches randomly. I chose them because they align with how I understand human behavior.

Gottman’s research and EFT help me see the moment connection turns into protection. Nervous system work explains why conflict can feel like danger before the mind catches up. CBT provides structure when thoughts spiral. Trauma-informed care ensures we move with intention, not force.

I believe deeply in the mind–body connection. The body often knows long before the mind can explain. If we ignore it, we miss half the story. When things feel chaotic - in your relationship, your nervous system, or your thoughts - clarity gets buried. My role is not to hand you answers. It is to help you access the ones already within you.

I often think of the brain as a jungle. We walk the same paths because they feel familiar - even when they lead to the same shutdowns, the same arguments, the same anxiety. Creating a new path can feel exposed and uncertain.

That’s where I come in.

I walk beside you as you carve something new - slowly, intentionally, without losing yourself in the process.

When I served in psychological first aid during the Lahaina wildfire, I witnessed how quickly nervous systems can become overwhelmed - and how powerful calm containment can be. Crisis does not call for panic. It calls for presence. That same steadiness guides my work today. You can expect clarity, steadiness, and care.

Come as you are.

My mission is to help people feel more connected - to themselves and to the people they love. I believe healing is holistic. We don’t isolate the mind from the body, or relationships from the individual. We look at the whole system. My work is not about molding anyone into a more impressive or socially acceptable version of themselves. It’s about helping you come home to who you already are, soften the patterns that no longer serve you, and create more space for joy, clarity, and presence in your life.

I take this responsibility seriously. Each client is treated as a unique individual, shaped by culture, history, and lived experience. I tailor my care intentionally, and I stay committed to continuing my education so that the support I offer is thoughtful, current, and grounded in integrity. Therapy should feel meaningful. It should create real movement - in your relationships, in your nervous system, and in how you show up in your daily life. That’s the standard I hold myself to.
